The Ford CD3 platform was developed by Mazda as the GG chassis. By my measures CD3 lead to Ford’s resurgence as a leader in the mid-size segment. But which CD3 is best CD3?
Up first, my favorite, the Mercury Milan:
Second, the upscale Lincoln MKZ (previously Zephyr):
Third, Ford’s savior, the Fusion:
And finally, the Mazda6 (GG updated, GH platform):
I could make a poll but discussion is more fun, rank them for yourselves!

For sure the Fusion. There is also the Besturn (Chinese market only) B50, & B70. They still use the CD3.
B50: Been using the CD3 since 2009 - present.
B70: Been using the CD3 since 2006 - present.

Yeah, I saw it too, but it’s such a styling abomination I decided to leave it out.

Lincoln MKZ for me hands down. The Mercury looks a bit awkward to me, I don’t like the facelift of the Fusion and the 6 is the least worst offender of IMO Mazda’s big smiley face era of design.

I think the Lincoln has aged very well, whereas the Fusion and 6 look fairly dated.

MKZ (I really wish they would have stuck with the Zephyr name) all the way. I never thought much of it new, but it has really agreed nicely. I kinda like that generation of Fusion, too.

MKZ but with as little chrome as possible, but all 4 look better than a lot of their contemporaries. The Milan with the Premier package and Sport Appearance Package (or whatever they called the kit with ground effects and a trunk ducktail lip with CHMSL) looked damn fine.
I’d gladly take home an MKZ - either hybrid (practical) or AWD (fun) - if my own 6 needed replacement, but it’d have to beat out a Lexus GS on price/availability. Heated and cooled seats, big brake lights, amber turn signals, quieter interior, mmmmmmm...

I’m not crazy about the way any of them look. I think the tail-lights of the MXZ are really sharp looking, but the front ... not so much.

I don’t like the pre-facelift Fusion. Post-lift is much better

Mazda, Mercury, Ford, Lincoln.
The Mazda’s my fav, obviously; it’s the most contemporary-looking of the bunch.
The Mercury comes second for me; I’ve always liked the smooth curves of the front, but the rest of the body is held back by the badge-engineeredness.
The Ford had that ugly Gillette grille, but was otherwise generically handsome.
And the Lincoln is just boring and forgettable.

Zephyr/MKZ, but I’m biased.
